FREERICE UPDATE
The totals of the last three months for FreeRice:

JANUARY 2009 2,416,239,520
FEBRUARY 2009 1,663,509,530
MARCH 2009 1,830,287,650
APRIL 2009 1,478,963,720
MAY 2009: 1,403,545,670
JUNE 2009 929,906,500
JULY 2009 652,730,310
AUGUST 2009 787,320,460
SEPTEMBER 2009 1,310,200,000
OCTOBER 2009 1,611,699,490

It's been about a year since the totals started to slip, if my memory serves me correctly. They went downwards like this last summer, but the totals this year are worse. Even if the months are starting to get better after July, it needs more views than before. If you want to spread awareness of this site, one way of doing so is putting the FreeRice stamp on your Journals.

If you don't have a prescription, this can work, too.
:iconfreerice1plz::iconfreerice2plz:

Another way is to spread the word of the site and how it works on your Journals and all over the Internet and your community.

For those who don't know what FreeRice is, I'll gladly explain:
As the site provides English vocabulary to everyone for free, it at the same time provides rice to hungry people around the world, also for free. The catch? You'll only have to answer multiple-choice vocabulary questions. Every one you get right, 10 grains of rice will be donated to the United Nations World Food Program. It's very surprisingly that simple.

Since we're all in a global recession or at least trying to recover from it, this site needs a LOT of visitors this year, even more than last year's.

FREERICE UPDATE
The totals of the last three months for FreeRice:

MAY 2009: 1,403,545,670
JUNE 2009: 929,906,500
JULY 2009: 652,730,310
AUGUST 2009: 787,320,460

It's been about a year since the totals started to slip, if my memory serves me correctly. They went downwards like this last summer, but the totals this year are worse. Even if the months are starting to get better after July, it needs more views than before.

:iconaqua321: tagged me, now I got to do this.

I intentionally made mine similar to his kind of because I just want to make this Journal quick. XD

- - -

1 - Post the rules.
2 - Each tagged person must tell 8 things about themselves.
3 - At the end you must tag 8 people and put their icon in your journal.
4 - Then go to their page and leave a comment saying you tagged them.
5 - Choose three deviations of the person who tagged you and feature them in the first slot.
6 - The first fifteen people who comment on this journal tag will have three deviations chosen from their galleries featured in the tag.

1. My name is kind of gay, I know (as in literally gay, [says Mr. Obvious]), but I may get a new account just to get a new one unless DeviantART gives us the option to change ours in our own account sometime by the end of the year. I don't feel too comfortable with it anymore.

2. The World Ends With You is possibly the most narratively pleasing game I've ever played. Even about as much as Okami, which is hard to do. Far Cry 2, on the other hand, is possibly the least, but at least I didn't get it for that. B(

3. I suck at fighting games and ESPECIALLY racing. Fighting games are still fun to me, but racing...not so much, not even Mario Kart. Speaking of which, I sold my Mario Kart DS at a Gamestop for $22! They'll pay (and charge) good money for Mario and Zelda games or least my store does.

4. I'm a complete whore for user-created content and character customization! THE reason why I got Far Cry 2 was for the Map Editor, Halo 3 for the Forge and Theater modes, the Soul Caliburs for the Create-A-Souls, et cetera, et cetera, and the reason why I want a PS3 so I can play LittleBigPlanet! 8D

5. I mainly hope to get a digital video camera for Christmas, though. LittleBigPlanet can wait another year.

6. I thought about finding someone who has a capture card so I can mooch off them to make Halo 3 machinima, but since Bungie Pro got updated so you can actually see your videos on the computer, that will no longer be needed.

7. Soul Calibur IV is the most rushedest good fighting game EVARRRRRRRRRRR! Well, actually, I hear the new King of Fighters is now.

8. Holding out to buy the English version of Soul Silver. I only tried looking at most of the basic gameplay on a friend's Japanese version as to not spoil myself too much and I must say the touch-screen mechanics are MUCH more expanded to the point that the only thing that it may NOT be able to do on the touch screen is just move around. Moving Pokemon around in the PC is certainly quicker as is searching for a certain item in one category, I think. Man, in D/P/P, it sure took me quite a while to look for what I need to find in that one item category. XD

25 Things About Me (+ Important FreeRice Update)

URGENT FREERICE NEWS
Last month was better for FreeRice than February's with 1.8 billion, but by only 200 million. Therefore, it did 600 million worse than January's. So this year doesn't turn out worse than last's we need to top the last two months, let alone January, and keep that pace or better than that. Not only that, we need to revive FreeRice's recognition.

One way of doing so is putting the FreeRice stamp on your Journals.

If you don't have a prescription, this can work, too.

Thank goodness it's the weekend, let alone after the end of the quarter. Most of the chemistry homework I couldn't figure out and, therefore, missing's being lifted off my shoulders, but unfortunately, I still have a lot of homework, particuarly for English, in which I need to finish the study guide for The Things They Carried (An interesting war book, to say the least) and write up a book report for Nailed and Give A Boy A Gun. A new deviation here is still not on the top of my list until I finish up my newest Youtube Poop, which is taking quite a long time to do. [EDIT: It's now finished, so if you want to see it, go down to 2. in here.]

---------------------
[MAY 2nd UPDATE]

And finally, after a month of mostly homework (and Platinum), here are 25 things about me!

:icondeoxysribonuke: tagged me, so I'm gonna have to do this eventually! 8D

1. I've been drawing for over ten years and it still takes me a good while to make a decent picture.

2. Even though I'm very imaginative, I have a very long way to go to become amazing, but it'll be all worth it.

3. Currently, I am taking a creative writing class to improve on my writing skills. I like writing very much, too. 8D

4. I also make Youtube Poops. So far, I've made nine! 8D
Here's my account. [link]

5. Would I recommend Platinum? If you, like I, don't mind (or in fact like) playing nearly the same exact adventure as you did two years ago to get to the Distortion World and many other features, this game may be worth the double-dip. But along the way, you'll be treated to a lot of visual tweaks that make its older DS versions look ugly(er). This link explains every change that has been made in Platinum. [link]

6. Heh. I still have my special edition red and silver DS (the original version). It's taken a couple hard hits, but nothing's broken still! 8D

7. I'm a pretty big fan of Pokemon and Fullmetal Alchemist (both the anime and the manga).

8. Oh, and the DS game The World Ends With You! One of my favorite games EVER! Get it! Seriously! 8D

9. Yes, I also do that, :icondeoxysribonuke: and :iconwindbladeicepuppy:. ~ (See #6 of the latter person's Journal Entry)

10. I am a nut for orchestra and violin. I've been looking for an orchestrated version of Sonic 2's boss battle for years now and I have found some pleasing results, even though not as epic as I hoped.

11. I try to be as optimistic as possible, with a reasonable percentage of success.

12. I may lean more towards liberal, I think, but I'm willing to listen to both sides, as long as I'm sure neither of them are biased. All liberal isn't good, but neither's all conservative. Moderation's always good.

13. One of my favorite books is The Catcher In The Rye. In a way, it's quite a devastating book since it explains how the evils and hypocricies of adults can easily be passed down to children and made them who they typically are.

14. I'm quite slow about thinking of what to do, say, or pretty much anything. In fact, this took me over an hour's worth of time. Maybe even two. I forgot since I started on this last afternoon. XD;

15. If I can't make it as an artist, at least I should as a writer. I think I'm a better writer (at least at making a good plot) than drawing, if not a lot better. I do have a Pokemon fanfiction in mind but I highly doubt it'll be worth the time here.

16. Is this over yet?

17. There are some things I can wait forever on, like being able to go on Xbox Live again, others I can barely wait one second, like school ending!

18. My favorite voice actor may have to be either Aaron Dismuke, Travis Willingham, or Vic Mignogna (all from Fullmetal Alchemist). According to all those convention videos, they must really love their jobs, especially the latter two. XD

19. Another of my absentminded hobbies would be roleplaying, but I haven't done so much of it. Trying to find a good one in Serebii.

20. Of my favorite kinds of games (vid games or RPs) are those with either a good story, suspense, or motivation.

21. I feel like I should say something about my orientation. I am a little gay, but not gay enough to be gay. I definitely am a hetero, so if I were gay, I'd be bi.[/says Mr. Obvious]

22. Speaking of Mr. Obvious, I sometimes tend to say things that are blatantly obvious, but I usually say them for the sake of double-checking. Sometimes, when I say too many obvious things at once, I turn into my alter-ego. Guess what his name is. MR. OBVIOUS! I should make a comic page about him. Another thing in my long-ass list of projects to do.

23. I'm pretty decent at climbing, despite my short arms.

24. Hee hee. Speaking of which, one time, my class was upstairs in this GIGANTIC attic in our high school. I wandered off and they turned off the lights on me. It was mostly pitch black. I climbed up to a vent thing and thought I could leave out there, but it was fenced off. I got down and aimlessly went around the attic until I found a door out of the attic and ended up on the roof. A moment later, someone found me and I finally was able to make it back downstairs. Scariest two hours of my life, I think.

25. One of these days, I want to leave this town and forge a living of my own. For me, for my friends, for the love of my life. That's why I draw, why I write, and why I do most other things.

How "Mentally Ill" Am I?

URGENT FREERICE NEWS
In January, FreeRice only reached 2.4 billion out of the 4 billion I was hoping for. Last month was even worse with 1.7 billion. This month didn't do good, either. No days even reached 90 million. The highest this month was 87 million. We've gotten quite a lot of ups and downs here because of the weekends. The lowest we're getting is 26 million.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy crap have I not uploaded this page for quite some time! Fortunately, I'm hoping to finish that Youtube Poop that I've yet to finish due to all the homework, some complications, and the usual things I do.

Once I'm done with that, I'll make something in this site. Since third quarter here's ending next week, I may be able to fit some more time in to do a couple of my MANY projects here.

Useless info: Still failing chemistry, but if I pass that one test I missed when I was sick last month, I'll pass this quarter. Just one freaking more to pass and I'm done with science for good.
